For several years now, agriculture has been suffering from a shortage of workers worldwide. Due to a lack of labor for picking apples, local gardeners decided to hire young pensioners.
This year gardeners hire 1.2 thousand at Deux-Sèvres. Unfortunately, this is not such an easy task as it seems at first glance.
No staff, and Eric Michel turned to young retirees to collect 300 tons of apples from his orchard. According to him, all farmers in France faced such a problem.
They decided to compensate for the lack of workers at the expense of young pensioners who are still able to work. For the elderly, this is a good help, which allows them to earn up to 1 thousand euros per month.
The problem of labor shortages in world agriculture is now more relevant than ever. The average age of farmers in all countries continues to increase amid a lack of interest among the younger generation in this work.
That is, the current aging farmers and livestock breeders have virtually no shift. Even the usual seasonal work is already turning into a problem, since there is no one to work on farms. Scientists are trying to fill this gap with robots, which are becoming more intelligent and universal.
