The British Council for Agriculture and Horticulture (AHDB) received 1 million.
This funding will help AHDB recruit and manage eight more strategic dairy farms across Britain over the next five years.
Last summer, Wales' Minister of Agriculture, Leslie Griffiths, announced that AHDB is leasing eight more strategic farms in Wales, which is part of the Dairy Improvement Program funded by the Wales Rural Government Program - Rural Development Program. The current expansion of the dairy farm network is the main part of the cooperation program in the field of dairy productivity, created in 2018 as part of a partnership between industry and the government.
Each of the new farms will follow the strategic model of AHDB farms and represent year-round or block calving systems. The farms will demonstrate best practices, hold on-farm activities, and in the future, each farm will openly share its figures with the key performance indicators of AHDB Dairy - a program to help young farmers reduce costs and increase production efficiency.Share
