As of August 27 of this year, agrarians of eight regions of Ukraine began harvesting sunflower.
According to the Harvest Online 2019 interactive map, in the context of late cultures, the following were collected:
- buckwheat - 6 thousand tons with an average yield of 3.93 tons / ha .;
- millet - 50 thousand tons with an average yield of 1.81 tons / ha;
- sunflower - 121 thousand tons with an average yield of 1.49 tons / ha.
Early grain and leguminous crops were threshed on an area of 9.9 million hectares, which is 99.7% of the forecast, 39.1 million tons of grain were threshed with an average yield of 3.93 tons / ha.
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian farmers every year are engaged in the purchase of high-quality seed material of sunflower from a certain group of countries, which include Germany, France and the United States. Slightly fewer seeds come to Ukraine from Chile, Spain, and India, as reported by IAE Deputy Director Nikolai Pugachev.
It is noteworthy that this spring the agrarians of the Kherson region planned to increase the sown area under this crop to 350 thousand ha.
