Ukrlendfarming Group of Companies is actively applying land irrigation in order to increase their productivity. Doll.
Weather anomalies that have recently been observed in Ukraine have a negative impact on agriculture. Winter precipitation decreased by 3-17%, and areas suffering from lack of water increased.
In addition, the frequency of droughts has increased. In order to maintain Ukraine’s position as a producer of agricultural products, large agricultural enterprises invest heavily in irrigation. Only in this way can a high level of productivity be achieved.
Ukrlendfarming invests in irrigation systems covering an area of 4.5 thousand hectares since 2012. These lands are located in Lugansk, Zaporizhzhya, Nikolaev and Kherson regions.
To date, the company has spent about 20 million on irrigation, as reported by the head of the department for innovation and development of agribusiness of the agricultural holding Vladimir Fantukh.
1 ha. under irrigation costs the agricultural holding $ 400 per year. According to Vladimir Fantukh, on irrigated lands, the yield of cultivated crops increases by 30-50%, and in some crops even by 100%. Without irrigation, there will be no harvest at all on these lands in the current climate.
According to experts, the number of droughts in summer and autumn until 2030 may increase by 15-30%.
