From tomorrow, May 17, 2019, the import of poultry meat made by the producers of Stavropol and the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of Armenia is prohibited.
The corresponding order was issued by the chairman of the food safety regulatory body of Armenia.
According to the head of the inspection department, such a decision was made on the basis of information published on the official portal of the World Organization for Animal Health.In particular, the site reported that in the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation, as well as in poultry farms of the Krasnodar Territory, bird stocks are being killed by Newcastle disease, also known as the Asian plague.
Based on this publication, the Armenian side immediately issued a ban on the import (including transit) to the territory of its state of live birds of various agricultural breeds, as well as products of their processing, including: meat, eggs for sale in food outlets and for use in incubators, as well as meat and bone meal, feathers and down.The ban applies to feed for birds, as well as feed additives for farm animals of various types (excluding additives based on synthetic and chemical components). In addition, it is forbidden to import from Russia to Armenia cardboard and plastic boxes and cardboard linings for packaging agricultural products.
