According to information provided by Oil World experts, in the first month of this year, China significantly increased overseas purchases of sunflower meal.
China purchased about 330.2 thousand tons of product, and this is 150 times more than last year's January figure, when only 1.2 thousand tons of product was imported.
It is characteristic that out of 330.2 thousand tons, 329.9 thousand tons of sunflower meal was purchased from Ukraine.
And in total from October 2018 to January 2020, China imported only 514.2 thousand tons.
In addition, in the first month of this year, an increase in the supply of sunflower oil to the country was recorded. China purchased it in the amount of 97.5 thousand tons. And again, the lion's share of imports is in Ukraine - 84.6 thousand tons, or 86% of the total.
It should be noted that sunflower meal is a valuable feed product, widely used in the agricultural sector. The use of sunflower meal can significantly stimulate the productivity of birds and animals.
Sunflower meal is not produced intentionally, it is one of the results of processing sunflower seeds by pressing and subsequent release of residual oil.
In sunflower meal contains 1.5-2% of sunflower oil and from 30 to 42% of protein and fiber.
