Based on information shared with the public by representatives of the press center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, to date, domestic farmers have managed to carry out spring sowing on fifty and a half million hectares.
Sown area is about ninety-six and a half percent of the planned plan at the beginning of the spring season. It is noteworthy that a year earlier, on the same date in June 2018, in Russian open spaces, sown spring fields occupied exactly the same territory.
It is important to add that sowing spring crops at the moment is implemented at almost ninety-eight percent and produced in areas of twenty-eight point nine tenths of a million hectares. For comparison, we add that exactly a year ago, the figure was twenty-nine and a half million hectares.
If we talk about barley crops, then we are talking about eight million hectares, which exceeds the originally planned plan by almost two percent. Spring wheat is sown in territories of about twelve million hectares, which is ninety-eight percent of the plan.
Cereal corn currently occupies fields of two and a half million hectares, and here the farmers managed to exceed the plan by one and a half percent. As for the fields with sunflowers, their indicator is eight million hectares and the excess of the plan by almost five percent.
