Two producers of nuts from Ukraine will be able to attend a training program on growing almonds, pistachios and walnuts, which will be held in California from July 27 to August 3, 2019.
This was reported on his page on the social network Facebook by the economist of the investment department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Andrei Yarmak. The specialist said that during the selection of participants for attending the conference, preference will be given to those who are fluent in English.
Today, the USA has the world leadership in the export and quality of all types of nuts, although production costs in California are very high. The USA is also a leader in the marketing of nuts, which Ukraine could learn from. In the United States, the formation of major global nut trends is underway, Andrey Yarmak shares information.During the conference, the following issues will be considered:
- technologies for growing 3 types of nuts of leading scientists from Fresno State University;
- acquaintance with the experimental plots of different nuts of Fresno State University;
- visiting commercial gardens for the cultivation of pistachios, almonds and walnuts;
- a visit to commercial nut processors;
- visiting associations that are involved in the promotion and marketing of nuts;
- visit to the famous Sequoia park;
- bonus - the backbone of the group of participants will be from Georgia.
