Employees of agricultural enterprises of the Stavropol Territory launched the harvest process in the fields with early potatoes.

It is reported that today in the harvesting campaign the most active are the agrarians of the Budyonovsky and Krasnogvardeisky municipalities of the region. The process of picking potatoes is also gaining momentum in the territory of the Ipatovo urban district.

As noted by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, to date, potato pickers can please with significant results - over eight thousand tons of tubers have been harvested from Stavropol fields. It is noteworthy that we are talking about a crop of two hundred and eleven hectares of land.

Agribusiness analysts have estimated that the average potato yield on regional land currently exceeds three hundred and fifty-six centners per hectare.

It will not be superfluous to note that last year, representatives of agricultural organizations jointly gathered a little more than two hundred thirty-two and a half thousand tons of potatoes from the marginal fields.

The harvesting campaign was carried out on fourteen thousand hectares. This year, the authorities of the Stavropol Territory and the agrarians of the region are sure that they will be able to collect even more crops - at least three percent.
