Tibetan medicinal goji berries slow down the aging process of the body, are useful for diabetics, prevent cancer, show effectiveness in the fight against excess weight and carry a lot of useful things. In Ukraine, these berries are grown in the Kherson region.
Goji berries contain many useful substances for humans: 18 amino acids, 22 micro and macro elements, 6 vitamins and polysaccharides, alkaloids. A day you can eat no more than 50 g of goji in dried form, as they contain atropine.
Today, the main supplier of berries in the international market is China. The properties of goji were first told by the monks of Tibet. Now berries are grown in China on an industrial scale.
Ukraine is quite capable of competing with China in the cultivation of famous berries. It became known by a fluke when a Chinese farmer Wang settled in the steppes of the Kherson region. As an experiment, he planted goji on 2 hectares of land and got a good result.
So far, the demand for goji in Ukraine remains small and almost the entire crop of Kherson berries is exported. But the fashion for a healthy lifestyle is gradually coming to Ukraine, and with it the interest in goji.
