The bad weather that raged this month in the Republic of Tatarstan caused damage to local farmers. According to preliminary forecasts of experts, it is estimated at one and a half billion rubles.
Despite the fact that a significant part of the grain fields died under the influence of low temperatures, meteorologists predict a series of May night frosts in the Tatarstan open spaces.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, the weather destroyed about 120 hectares of grain on the lands of Tatar farmers. Of these, fields with winter crops became the victims of severe weather conditions (more than half in the total mass of the republic). This information was shared with the public by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Akhmetov.
According to Akhmetov, the fall of the crop was facilitated by precipitation in the form of snow, which covered winter fields with a thick layer of snow. It snowed for a long time, melt water did not contribute to the successful development of plants.
All this, together with night frosts (up to minus 18 degrees Celsius), which were recorded in the region from April 13 to 15, led to the fact that the lion's share of the crop died.
