The leaders of Primorsky Krai came to the conclusion that today it can already be considered advisable to remove the quarantine regime for foot and mouth disease in areas such as Oktyabrsky and Primorsky.
According to employees of relevant departments, quarantine cancellation plans affect the cancellation of the regime in four more regions of the region. Therefore, farmers of Ussuriysk, Lesozavodsk, Spassk-Dalniy, and also the entire Spassky district as a whole will be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
The head of the State Veterinary Inspectorate of Primorsky Territory Dmitry Kuzin reported that today all foci of FMD infection have been localized and eliminated: “However, preventive measures are still being taken,” adds the chief veterinarian of the region. “Therefore, vaccination of those animals that are potentially susceptible to the causative agent of foot and mouth disease is still carried out, moreover, around the clock.”
Recall that the insidious disease of foot and mouth disease entered the Primorsky Territory in January 2019, having settled on pig farms in the Ussuriisk urban district, as well as in the Spassky, Oktyabrsky and Mikhailovsky districts. The quarantine mode was introduced immediately. Since then, more than 100 thousand animals have been vaccinated.
