This year, the territories that were allocated by the authorities of the Russian Federation for sowing grain and leguminous crops exceeded the area of ​​forty-six and a half million hectares.

It is noteworthy that this indicator by three hundred thousand hectares (or 0.6 percent) exceeds the total area of ​​crops of grain and legumes in the past, 2018.

It will not be superfluous to note that we are talking about land, the cultivation of which is within the competence of both farming organizations and agricultural facilities, and among the population of the country.

This information was shared by the press center of the Federal State Statistics Service. In addition, the agency noted that the increase in wheat fields in the current year occurred by three percent compared to last year. In this case, there was an increase of eight hundred thousand hectares.

As for sunflower crops, five percent more land was allocated for them this year than in 2018. And here it is advisable to talk about increasing the area to eight million five hundred and five thousand hectares.

If we talk about fields with sugar beets, then the increase in territories was one and a half percent, which allowed to increase the area to one million one hundred forty-five thousand hectares.
