Poland is one of the leading exporters of chicken in the world. Previously, it was the main exporter of this product. Last year, she exported 5.4 billion euros of chicken meat. She is hindered by several obstacles, one of which is Ukraine, to advance into the top three, the director general of the KRD-IG project, representing the interests of Polish poultry farmers and producers Lukasz Dominic, said.

Now Ukraine is one of the three major exporters to the EU countries. Over the year, export of poultry abroad from Ukraine increased by 90%. The first place among exporters of poultry meat is Thailand. He exported 12 thousand tons of chicken meat to the European Union. The second place is taken by Brazil. She exported 110 thousand tons of poultry to the countries of the European Union. But its supply fell by 41.9%, compared with last year.

The price of Ukrainian poultry remains low compared to Polish. For the same reason, products from the USA and Brazil are ahead of Poland in terms of sales. In addition, Polish poultry farmers lack investment and production capacity.

In 2018, Ukraine took the 6th place in the world ranking of chicken exporters, leaving Canada and Russia behind. The export share accounted for 42% of the total volume received by the EU countries. For the first half of the year, Ukraine increased its trade with EU countries by 14%, compared with the same period in 2017. The foreign trade turnover reached 2.8 billion cu. The main buyers of Ukrainian poultry meat are also the Netherlands, Iraq ($ 36.49 million) and other countries.

One of the three leading suppliers to the EU countries is Ukraine. The Mironovsky Hleboproduct company has become the largest supplier of poultry abroad. Her goods account for 88% of all Ukrainian poultry exports.
