According to the estimates of analysts of the world food market, last year, Poland sent over forty-nine thousand tons of raspberries to foreign buyers.
It is known that the bulk of Polish berries went to retail outlets in Belgium, France, Germany and the UK.
Such information was shared by representatives of the National Center for Support of Agricultural Objects. The department also noted that export raspberries from Poland in most cases were sent to the foreign market in frozen form.
It will not be superfluous to note that today, Polish raspberry producers have a significant reason for pride. After all, they own the world championship in the supply of these berries to the European market. In addition, Poland ranks second (in the first - the producers of the United States of America) in the supply of raspberries to the world trade scene.
Every year, Polish farmers harvest raspberries in the amount of over one hundred and five thousand tons, which is thirteen percent of the total world production and almost half of European production.
The territories allotted in Poland for raspberry cultivation make up over twenty nine thousand hectares in a total area. It is noteworthy that raspberries are cultivated by agricultural producers from the southwestern regions of Poland.
