Every year, areas under amaranth grow in Ukraine. The potential of the amaranth market is estimated as very high domestically and in the foreign market.

Amaranth cultivation in Ukraine began in 1989-1992. cultivated areas under amaranth increased to 800 hectares.

Sown area under this cultivated plant in Ukraine can be increased to 20 thousand hectares. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Department of financial consulting Nazarenko Julia, as reported by the press service of Pro-Consulting.

Yulia Nazarenko announced the huge potential of the amaranth market. She emphasized that, taking into account the availability of processing capacities and stable demand for the product in Ukraine and abroad, Ukrainian farmers can plant 20 thousand hectares of land with crops.

In order to organize an enterprise with an annual plant processing capacity of up to 3 thousand tons / year, you need to invest $ 4 million. Earlier it was reported that a project for growing chickens in amaranth plantations was launched at several farms in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

At the same time, the plants receive valuable fertilizer in the form of chicken droppings and a decrease in the number of harmful insects, while the birds have free range and improved nutrition due to eating the lower leaves of amaranth.
