Experts from the Belgorod Department of Agriculture and Environmental Reproduction conducted a tasting of various varieties of apples that local gardeners grew in 2018. It is noteworthy that only those fruits that were grown on the experimental apple trees of the Korochansky nursery were allowed to taste.

Apples were evaluated according to several criteria, among which taste, pulp density, the possibility of long-term storage, and external characteristics occupied an important place. As a result, experts identified three varieties that scored the maximum number of points. The most delicious, hardy and high-quality apples were recognized such varieties as the Russian "Academician Kazakov" (will be brought to the State Register in the near future) and the foreign "Ligol" and "Honey Crisp".

All varieties presented at the tasting will be zoned and recommended for cultivation in the gardens of the Belgorod region.
