On August 17-18 this year, the Fifth Golden Cluster-2019 Exhibition and Conference, which is organized by Infoindustry with the support of the Canadian UHBDP project, will be held in Zaporozhye. About 700 winegrowers and winemakers from Odessa, Nikolaev, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and other regions of Ukraine have already registered for participation in this event.
By tradition, the conference participants will discuss the problems of viticulture and winemaking. I must say that the situation in this area over the past three years has deteriorated significantly. Due to a decrease in consumer demand, the loss of traditional markets in the near abroad, vineyards are cut down, enterprises producing wines and juices are closed.
Recently, at the initiative of winegrowers and winemakers, a round table was held at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Politics to discuss problematic issues in the viticulture industry, chaired by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Olga Trofimtseva. The conversation was attended by MP Kiss of Ukraine, representatives of well-known farms and factories.
The participants of the round table proposed holding a seminar for small winemakers, introducing a specialty as a wine-grower, developing documentation for the production of whiskey, preparing a draft Decree of the President of Ukraine on the establishment of a holiday for wine-growers and winemakers in Ukraine, introducing an electronic register of small wine-makers, developing a roadmap for expanding vineyards, introduce the brand “Ukrainian Wine”.
The organic wine market is still limited. The impoverishment of the population led to the fact that people are looking for cheaper, however, those who have visited abroad and tried local wine there, begin to look for this here.
Organics will become a trend and will be in demand in five years. But today it is necessary to begin to engage in organic production, so that after 5 years to reach normal volumes.
