Early ripening varieties of tomatoes are very popular among vegetable growers. Among them there are ultra-precocious, which are even more popular. One of these is the variety with the "musical" name "Bonnie MM", which will be discussed later.
Grade description
For a long time, the breeders of the Gavrish agricultural company from Russia worked on the cultivation of Boni MM variety. It was registered in the varietal register only at the beginning of this century. Boni MM is one of the earliest varieties that was bred by Russian scientists. Many believe that it is genetically modified due to its maturation indicators. But this is not true. The second decade, the variety enjoys well-deserved popularity among vegetable growers.

Pros and cons of the variety
- The Boni MM variety has the following advantages:
- ultrafast ripening period - gives the first summer tomatoes;
- the bush is undersized and strong, therefore it does not require garter and pinching;
- because of the compact bush space is saved on the garden;
- fruits can be eaten both fresh and canned;
- a high percentage of seed germination;
- the weather does not affect the formation of ovaries;
- practically not affected by common tomato diseases;
- due to the quick return of the crop, other varieties can be planted in their place;
- excellent durability and transportation qualities.
- The early Bonnie MM has a few drawbacks:
- You can grow a plant exclusively on open ground. In a greenhouse, it wilts, yield indicators decline;
- the variety is picky about the soil, bears fruit well only on fertile soils.
Features of planting and growing
Boni MM tomatoes can be grown by planting seeds in open ground, or in seedlings. Vegetable growers recommend using the latter, as the yield is higher. And seedlings are ready for planting on dates that are half the size of other varieties. Young Boni MM plants can be planted in a permanent place within a month after planting the seeds.
Optimal conditions
The first shoots of tomatoes can be expected within five days after sowing. To do this, seeds need to create the right conditions. Tanks with them should be in a place where the temperature will be +25 ... + 28 ° С. Place on a warm windowsill or near the battery is quite suitable. The soil must be very moist, namely at the level of 80–90%. Lighting should be more than adequate. If there is not enough daylight, you can give the plants the necessary lighting using special lamps.
Sowing preparation
Before planting, planting material and soil must be decontaminated in order to be safe from the presence of pathogenic bacteria in them. Boni MM is demanding on the soil, so it is better to cook it yourself or purchase it in a specialized store. In the first case they mix: in equal parts garden soil, humus, compost, half of the sand and two parts of peat.
Tillage is carried out by such methods:
- placed in an oven with a temperature of +200 ° C for up to fifteen minutes;
- placed in a microwave oven with a power of 85 watts for up to five minutes;
- preparing a solution of 10 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide in half a liter of water, and the soil is poured into it;
- placed in a pot with a hole below and spilled with boiling water;
- it is placed in a pot with a hole below and spilled with a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
As for the seeds, you need to select those that are most likely to sprout. For this, all planting material is lowered into a container of water for a couple of hours. Seeds that come up are not suitable for planting. The remaining good can be disinfected by lowering it in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for half an hour. For etching, you can use hydrogen peroxide. Its three percent solution is heated to +50 ° C and planting material is placed in it for five minutes.
Important! Tomatoes dive after the appearance of the first leaves.
Sowing technology
There are many offers on the market of containers for growing seedlings. It can be boxes, plastic containers with separate compartments for each plant, peat pots, tablets. Everyone chooses an option for themselves. It should be remembered that the depth to which the seed is planted should be about a centimeter. When planted in boxes, the seeds are lowered into grooves that are 3-4 cm apart. The same distance is observed between the grains.
Seedlings of Bononi MM tomato varieties are advised to dive. This contributes to better development and strengthening of the roots of the young plant.
Planting seedlings in a permanent place
After a month after planting seeds, seedlings are planted in open ground. As a rule, this happens closer to mid-April. In the northern regions, a later landing is possible. At this time, frost on the soil no longer exists, and she herself is quite warmed up. Comfortable and daytime air temperature, which is kept at +15 ° C.
Young plants are planted in rows, the distance between which is 30–40 cm. The distance between plants is maintained in the region of half a meter. As a result, from seven to nine bushes are placed per square meter.
How to care for tomatoes
Boni MM tomatoes are unpretentious in leaving. To get a good crop, you just need to follow the elementary recommendations for growing vegetables.
Fertilizer and watering
Experienced vegetable growers recommend abundantly watering young plants in the first three to five days after planting. Further watering is carried out as necessary, depending on the state of the soil. It should not dry out. Typically, tomatoes are watered once or twice a week. This is done in the evening.
Important! Tomatoes should not be watered with cold water. They may die.
Boni MM tomatoes are grateful for top dressing. The first time you need to make complex fertilizers a couple of weeks after planting. After you can apply fertilizer again after a couple of weeks. Instead of industrial dressing, organics are successfully used. You can fertilize plants with manure dissolved in water or dissolve ash in it.
Shrub formation and pinching
The bush of tomato variety Boni MM is low but strong. There are few lateral branches on it, therefore, in most cases they do not do stepsoning. It can be carried out if you want, for example, to reduce the yield. Lateral shoots, or, in other words, stepsons, are removed after the first inflorescences appeared.
Did you know? You can't get better from tomatoes. A vegetable contains only 22 calories.
Soil loosening
Those who planted the Boni MM tomato variety claim that it grows better and bears fruit in the soil, which is properly cared for, namely, weeds are harvested, the crops are loosened. This should be done as necessary. It will be right to loosen the earth after each watering. After this procedure, the plant receives additional oxygen. The soil is loosened between rows, and on top I lay hay or sawdust. This is called mulching and helps maintain moisture, fights weeds. Loosening can be supplemented by hilling. It also contributes to the production of additional oxygen.

Disease prevention
Boni MM Tomatoes are a persistent variety against common tomato infections. The advantage is that practically no late blight affects it. For prevention, you can treat young plants with organic drugs from pests. It should only be remembered that this must be done before the appearance of inflorescences. If, nevertheless, the disease has occurred, then only organic preparations are indicated for getting rid of them. For example, you can treat plants with a three percent solution of hydrogen peroxide. To do this, 20 ml of the solution can be diluted in half a liter of water.
The tomato variety Boni MM, which is also called Boni M, is one of the most precocious. With proper planting and care, the first fruits can be obtained already in early June. The variety is characterized by productivity and unpretentious care.

ADVANTAGES: Super-precocious, with good taste, does not require pinching, blooms profusely and bears fruit until early September.
DISADVANTAGES: A thin peel that sometimes crackes in the fruit still on the bush
Boni MM was pleased first of all with fast ripening (SUPER-EARLY VARIETY !!!) and, at the same time, with good taste qualities of fruits. The bush is determinant, low (up to 0.4m), not requiring pinching, with a large number of fruits. Fruits of red color, classic "tomato" shape with a ribbed surface, medium-sized (about 100 g), covered with loose skin (some fruits cracked on the bush, apparently due to excessive watering), it tastes sour-sweet. Bonnie MM planted seeds on seedlings in mid-March 2014 (it’s too early in experience, the plants grew and started to bloom on the windowsill), planted them in the greenhouse on May 9, 2014, the first ripe fruits were picked at the end of JUNE 2014. They continued to sing until the beginning of September 2014. They are stored not for long, they ate with pleasure fresh and used for salads. Despite the average taste of Boni MM fruits, this variety still became one of the favorite in our family, as they began to eat fruits at the end of JUNE, when many gardeners just started to have cucumbers. The taste of the first tomato picked in the season, grown with your own hands, can not be compared with any other tomatoes that you can buy at this time. Of course, the children liked it, because there were no other tomatoes by that time.
